We stock Foley Catheters in 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, and 26 Fr. with 5cc balloons. Our 28 & 30 Fr. Foley Catheters have 30cc balloons.

All of our catheters are new and in their original sterile packages. Catheterization is a procedure that should be carried out under very clean and preferably sterile conditions.

If you have never done it before, have someone competent in the art supervise and teach you. Catheterization can, but need not, be a very dangerous procedure.

Catheters are cheap. Use them once, and then throw them away. Catheters should never be reused unless properly sterilized and stored in sterile packages. Autoclaving Foley Catheters may weaken the rubber. If the rubber is weakened, the inflatable balloon may burst. Never over inflate the balloon.

Urine collection bags have a one-way check valve to prevent urine back flow into the bladder. Be sure to connect them to use this feature properly. Urine bags may be reused after thorough washing and sanitizing with chlorine bleach. Wash away all traces of the bleach and air dry.

We do not recommend alcohol for preps. The use of Benzalkonium Antiseptic Towelettes followed by the Betadine Wipes is much better. Use only sterile surgical lubricant from an unopened tube or from a 3-gram foil pack.

French sizes are calculated as follows: the number refers to the circumference in millimeters. Thus a 30 French catheter is 30 millimeters in circumference or approx. 10 millimeters in diameter. We recommend you start with a 14 or 16 French. Start small and work up.

We offer a variety of items to suit your needs. If you are not sure exactly what you want, call and ask. You may avoid problems latter on.

Texts on Catheterization and Sounds (C101)  are available from us. See also our online documents for product data on Foley (internal) and Texas (external) cathers.
